Effect of Copper on Microstructure and Corrosion Resistance of Hot Rolled 301 Stainless Steel

چکیده

The effect of copper (Cu) on hot-rolled 301 austenitic stainless steel (ASS) was studied by observing the microstructures and testing electrochemical corrosion resistance properties. results showed that, with increase in Cu content, size shear zones ASS decreased, number increased, which increased uniformity microstructure macroscopically. presence decreased stacking fault energy at elevated temperatures. Meanwhile, amount chromium (Cr) carbides gradually implies that solid solution promotes Cr C steel, is conducive to formation Cr-rich passivation films. As a result, hot rolled Cu-bearing improved, both lower current density (Icorr) (Ipass), more positive potentials (Ecorr) potential (Ep), even though it does not show higher pitting resistance. content from 0.4% 1.1%, further improved.
